A Life in Verse ..

A life in verse - after all, we all live in the Uni-verse!!

I have had a fun afternoon today, posing for pictures for the local paper for an article they are writing about me and my poems. I felt like one of those lovely models, you know, when they say things like, "Look up ... face this way, smile, etc." Unfortunately I don't look like one so might have to borrow an airbrush.... haha. Let's hope the lens was sympathetic, eh!

If you'd like to read one of my latest poems, here it is: (PS if you are sharing this around, please keep my name and details on it. If you want to reproduce it anywhere, please ask first.)

SLUSH by Carol Pool
Slush is snow that's lost its glow
it's grey instead of white
and unlike when it first arrived
doesn't sparkle in the light

Slush is snow that's like Playdough
that's been moulded by many hands
and snowman, sleighs and snowballs
brought fun across the land

Slush is snow the wind can't blow
it's dirty, watery ice
it makes a really awful mess
and isn't very nice

Slush is snow that's started to go
to make way for better weather
but it brought unity to community
and people did things together

Snow's become slush that's in a rush
to get to the lakes and rivers
and we're all glad to see it go
'cos we tired of having the shivers!
